Just outside the LBJ Freeway (also known as 645) is a large community within what was established as the Golden Corridor in the 80’s is the subdivision known as Prestonwood along with variations of the name.
The western border of Preston Road (also known as State Hwy 289) provides the area with great shopping and restaurants in all price ranges.
Homes in this area were built mostly during the 70’s and 80’s with ranch style elevations on lots typically large enough for play yards and pools. Although situated in the Dallas City limits much of the community is served by the Richardson School District, a quality school district offering many exemplary schools.
Convenience to major thoroughfares which provide reasonable commutes, excellent schools, attractively priced homes and many shopping venues have contributed to the appeal to the community.
Far North Dallas encompasses areas north Interstate 635, known locally as LBJ Freeway, including the Northwood Hills, Prestonwood, Preston Trails, Estates West and Bent Tree neighborhoods. This area offers world-class shopping at such venues as Galleria Dallas, and abundant dining and entertainment options.
