University Park

University Park is known for its lavish homes and affluent residents. Together, University Park and neighboring Highland Park are known as the Park Cities—perhaps the premier addresses in all of Dallas County.

University Park is extremely well cared for, and it maintains the best city in city services. With a low crime rate, effective police and fire departments and outstanding schools, it is often considered the perfect place to start or raise a family.

More than 97 percent of University Parks graduates who attend Highland Park ISD continue on to college. Home of Southern Methodist University, University Park encourages education, sports, and the arts, which greatly add to the character and culture of the city.

Although some of the most prestigious shopping centers in the Metroplex are nearby, such as NorthPark Center and Preston Center, University Park has its own neighborhood stores and restaurants which serve the community. Snider Plaza is just west of the SMU campus, well known for its numerous dining spots and boutiques.
